Argentina's social movements generate viable alternatives of economies and human relations within a crisis-ridden, exploitative, neoliberal and neo-colonial economic system. RePresente is a documentary that seeks to open a space for voices, explanations, anecdotes but also images and dynamics of a world that does not stop to inspire us - a world that provides us with new inputs for debate, criticism and creation. The protagonists of this story are members of social movements and organizations who carried out the struggles during the last years and keep on building viable alternatives to the crisis-ridden system on a daily basis. It also points out the structural reasons for the severe situation in Argentina after four years of explicit neoliberalism and examines the influence of the International Monetary Fund and the G20 in the region. At the same time, it talks about the hope for a better future, about alternatives generated by movements that act in the field of feminism, self-managed and cooperative economies as well as ecological and community-supported agriculture. The documentary is a collaboration between German and Argentine alternative media collectives which has its origin in the intense days of December 2018 when the G20 summit took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
